With over 35 years in the landscaping and horticulture industry, along with teaching Landscape and Horticulture at TAFE NSW, we consider our company one-of-a-kind amongst landscape designers.

While studying the Diploma in Horticulture at Ryde TAFE back in the 1980’s, Bernard Robinson, owner of Rock Solid Landscape Design & Project Management, launched his career in Sydney and then Wollongong under the name of Heritage Landscapes.

In the 35+ years since, he has worked in all aspects of Landscaping and Horticulture, initially in garden design and planting followed by years as a paving and retaining wall specialist.

After owning and managing a retail garden centre from 1994, Bernard established Rock Solid Landscapes in 1999, a structural landscaping business, specialising in retaining walls and drainage, that serviced Newcastle, Lake Macquarie and the Hunter Valley for years.

Combined, this experience has given Bernard a vast knowledge of both ‘soft’ and ‘hard’ landscaping.
He knows how plants will thrive under various conditions, how to remedy poor drainage, how the slope of a site can be tamed and which method of construction will suit your structural components (i.e. retaining walls, paving, etc).

As a fully licensed structural landscaper, Bernard is constantly researching the latest landscape ideas and components. This guarantees that any service he provides is innovative and appropriate to the site requirements.
